Answer
If you're suffering from a chronic infection then you need to see a doctor.
This is another in a long line of scam products. Cures aren't 'by' with someone's name after it! This isn't a hair product, incense candle or fashion accessory, this is your health!

What I do that helps is fill up an empty tampon dispenser thing with yogurt. Then freeze it in the freezer then insert it when frozen at night b4 you go to bed so it sits in there for a while.

Acidophilus actually does work. It is in pill form, and you can get it in chewable-form or in caplets. I've taken both, and personally I like the chewable-form better. You take the chewable three times a day, and the caplet twice a day. Even since I started taking it, I haven't had any problems at all whatsoever. I don't know anything about Alka Seltzer, but definitely go for Acidophilus.

Probiotics are the biggest thing to help fight yeast growth and yeast infections. Yogurt and Kefir have Probiotics in them, but no where near enough to make a fast impact on yeast that a good Probiotic supplement (one with 30+ billion viable organisms from several strains) can.
In addition to Probiotics, Caprylic Acid and Grapefruit Seed Extract also help to fight the yeast directly, so those three together are a very good combination to fight yeast. Once the yeast infection is done, taking a maintenance dose of Probiotics (whether it be yogurt or a pill) would be a good way to keep the yeast infections from coming back.
Most of the cases I've heard of that used regimens like this showed an impact within just a few days (where they noticed some benefits) and were often almost completely gone within a month or so, but some more extreme cases took longer. Good luck and I hope I helped!
