How do i know if my daughter has yeast infection or regular dipper rash?

Q.

A. Smell, if she is grabbing at her privates a lot, if there is yellow discharge around her privates then it is probably a yeast infection. or treat her for diaper rash if it doesn't go away...yeast infection

Have you used an OTC product to cure diaper rash caused by a yeast infection?
Q. I was wondering if anyone has used an OTC product to cure diaper rash caused by a yeast infection? I've been reading up on otc fungal treatments, and found them to be quite interesting. Has anyone had good results? Please no rude answers, thank you.

A. I used a prescription cream, but it was basically Canesten with a small amount of hydrocordisone powder mixed in (the pharmacist actually misread the prescription and showed me the canesten on the shelf, before I pointed out the HC powder part of the RX). It worked pretty well, took a few days to fully clear up, but started improving right after the first application.

How do you know when a diaper rash has turned into a yeast infection?
Q.

A. You may not be able to detect yeast in a subtle diaper rash, but once it's full blown you can usually tell a yeast infection (versus a plain old diaper rash) because the rash will be well defined and beefy red, with slightly raised borders and "satellite" lesions (red lesions a slight distance from the main rash). Your child's skin may also be scaly.

Another big clue: A yeast rash tends to hang around for more than two days and doesn't respond to any traditional diaper rash treatments. It also usually shows up in the skin folds of the groin area.

When a yeast infection is brought under control inside the body do external symptoms (rash) also subside?
Q. Or can one get an external yeast rash and NOT have an internal overgrowth in the digestive system?

A. One can get an external yeast rash and NOT have an internal overgrowth in the digestive system. External yeast overgrowth is common given the right conditions. To have overgrowth in the digestive system takes suppression of the immune system.

What causes yeast infections & can sex play any part in getting one?

Q. It seems like almost everytime I have sex with my husband, I end up with a yeast infection. Why would this be? What causes yeast infections???

A. Many people deal with yeast infections at some points in their lives. Yet, not everyone understands the severity of the situation, nor how important it is to contain the infection while treatments are administered. When it comes to answering the question of "is a yeast infection contagious?", the answer is that it can be very contagious.

Perhaps the most well publicized type of yeast infection has to do with infection of the genitals or other parts of the body that are normally engaged in sexual activity. Both men and women may experience a yeast problem in and around the genitals. Such areas as the anus and the mouth may also be impacted. When one partner has a yeast infection in any of these areas, physical contact with another human being can open the door to sharing the infection. For this reason, sexual activity of any kind should be avoided until the infection is cleared up and a doctor confirms it is safe to resume sexual relations.

For more information on causes of yeast infection and immediate relief, you may wish to read about them here : http://yeast-infection.best-health-remedy.com/

what causes yeast infection in women and is that responsible for the fishy smell?
Q. Can lubricants cause fishy smell? I guess that what I really want to know.
The smell started a couple of days after using a commonly know lube with a condom.

A. Don't know what the previous responder is doing 'in medicine' but he certainly ain't a Doctor. Perhaps he packs pills for a living.

1st off, all women have an odour and this varies in strength from woman to woman. Just in the same way that a man's musky smell when he sweats is stronger in some men than others.

Some people say that women smell 'fishy', this is a common description and has absolutely nothing to do with any infection of any kind.

Oil based lubricants in themselves cannot cause a yeast infection (the clue is in the name). A yeast infection is a bacterial growth in the vagina caused by the right conditions - wet, warm and the introduction of the bacterial culture which can be done by 101 means. An oil based lubricant can sometimes cause inflamation due to allergic reaction and this is why many people prefer water based lubricants.

If you are using oil based lubrication then the most imortant thing is to wash thoroghly afterwards... yeast infections are usually associated with a lack of cleanliness.... invest in a douche and use plenty of warm water.

You're clearly using lubricants for a reason and if you introduce germs into the vagina and don't clean them out thoroughly then chances are you will get an infection and if you do, then a yeast infection or thrush may certianly increase the smell, but it isn't the only cause as women have a natural odour.

What causes you to get a yeast infection?
Q. What are the causes to a yeast infection? What are some home made remedies that can help cure it?

A. Candidiasis, commonly called yeast infection, is the most frequent infection acquired by women and is one of the most common reasons that women consult healthcare professionals. Yeast infections result from an overgrowth of a species of fungus called Candida albicans. Fungi are larger and more complex than bacteria. Yeast is unicellular fungus that thrives in warm, moist environments such as the mouth and vagina. Problems occur when there is an overgrowth of yeast, commonly occurring with pregnancy, use of oral contraceptives, poor nutrition, antibiotic therapy, diabetes, and other immunosuppressed disorders.

What birth control pill does not cause yeast infections?
Q. I want to go on something other than TriNessa because every month I'm getting infections. I tell my ob/gyn about it and she denies that it's the birth control causing problems. Is there something else that I can change to? Or do I have to live like this forever?

A. You should be able to find another pill. I was having the same problem, but with loestrin 24FE. The doctor explained it wasn't directly causing them...it was a secondary effect due to the hormone levels just not being quite right for me. It was also causing bothersome dryness. He was more than willing to change me to a lower dose pill. For me, the answer was NuvaRing. Good luck!

does anyone know of a home remedy for bv?

Q. it keeps coming back and anitbiotics from my dr dont help.. getting so frustrated!

A. I got BV for the first time about two years ago. I had no clue what is was, so I did a lot of research online and found so much info. My first reaction, obviously, was to see a doctor, which I had no insurance, so it ended up being a $500 urgent care visit! They gave me the antibiotics and about 2 months later it came back and it was worse! That's when I started seeing all of the other women's stories online that said this also happened to them. The reason is the antibiotics they give you kill all bacteria, good and bad. But you need the good to keep the bad away. So without the good, the bad end up taking over again. I got permanently cured with hydrogen peroxide douche. I know it sounds SO crazy, but there have been medical studies that say H2O2 kills bad bacteria and promotes growth of good bacteria, because the good bacteria in your vagina actually naturally produces H2O2. I filled a needleless syringe with straight H2O2 (3%) and squirted it (like a douche) into my vagina once a night for 7 nights, just like in the study. It worked. Go to http://www.earthclinic.com
Click on ailments, find and click on bacterial vaginosis, and there are so many remedies, as well as other womens stories, and what worked for them. If the H2O2 sounds too strange to you, there are other options that helped other women on this site. Good Luck!!!

EDIT: I forgot to add that your pH levels are maintained by the good bacteria. They produce lactic acid, so by using the peroxide it promotes the health of the good bacteria, which keeps your pH in check. And it has been proven that the good bacteria also produce hydrogen peroxide in small amounts, so you would just be helping it along a bit. For a long time, any time I was intimate with my husband, especially oral sex, and after my period, i would do the peroxide douche. Now I'm well balanced and no more problems with BV or yeast infections, which peroxide cures also.

What are some home remedys for BV (Bacterial Vaginosis)?
Q.

A. make sure it's not flavored yogurt! get plain. not fruit or vanilla, because the sugar in those can make a yeast infection arise. but she's right.

What is best home remedy for bv?
Q.

A. Here are some home remedies that are used for bv

* Garlic

The antifungal and antibacterial qualities found in garlic make it one of the best herbal treatment for bacterial infections, including BV. You can consume deodorized garlic supplement (e.g. consume one or two capsules per day until BV symptoms are gone). You can also put the peeled garlic cloves into a piece of gauze and insert it into the vagina. Many women found that this technique is able to effectively get rid of fish vaginal odor in just a couple of hours.

* Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is widely recognized for its antimicrobial properties. It is one of the popular BV natural cures because itâs effective. You can apply tea tree oil on the vagina by using tea tree oil tampons, douches or suppositories. You can also take a warm sitz bath added with tea tree oil and pure apple cider vinegar. It is one of the most popular home remedies women used to effectively cure BV.

* Goldenseal

Goldenseal contains immunity-boosting properties. Several bioactive substances can be found in Goldenseal. One of those substances is barbering, which exerts antifungal and antibacterial qualities. It helps to get rid of the bacteria that adhere to the vaginal wall. Goldenseal can be obtained as supplement in capsules; it is usually consumed until symptoms of BV disappear.

* Tracheal

Tracheal is a traditional herbal remedy used to restore a normal flow of the internal body fluids, as well as to help remove toxins from the body. Tracheal herbal tea can be prepared by brewing one teaspoon of dried tracheal herbs in 1 cup of hot water. Drink it before bedtime. Tracheal capsules are also available if you prefer a convenient method or donât like the taste of brewed tracheal tea.

Home remedies for BV?
Q. I really dont want to go to the doctor because i am uncomfortable with someone looking at my vagina, but i think i have bv. are there any home remedies for bv? i read that yogurt on a tampon works? I also read that a betadine douche works but i dont have a douche bag

A. There are so many things to address with this question... I listed a few things that may help at the end, but I feel I need to address these points first. First and foremost, you really need to find a doctor your feel comfortable with in order to have pap smears and all sorts of various checks and tests (STDs, various pregnancy issues including delivery, etc) throughout your life. I imagine you would feel better with a female doctor, but you can ask your female friends and family in the area which OB/GYN make them feel really comfortable. It's not important just for this one instance, but for future issues and important tests.

Second, self-diagnosis is a scary thing... you might be right, but you might be way off. For many ailments, there is a minor difference between an everyday issue (yeast infections, sprains, headaches, and such) and a serious medical issue that the everyday person really couldn't see the difference on while a well practiced doctor who can test levels of various things in your body (blood, responses, etc) to see specifically what it is and what it's not.
By diagnosing yourself and treating what you think it is may not cause a major problem (eg. having an uncomfortable feeling for longer than you would have otherwise had it), but it could cause major issues (the extreme example of having cancer that doesn't get treated because you think it's something else). It's better to be safe than sorry.

As far as the rest, you could certainly try any of those options, but if you don't have BV, they may not help. Also, you could buy a douche bag in most drug stores (some empty and refillable, some with something in it)... I'd shop around if you really wanted to try that. You could try taking Probiotics internally instead of (or in addition to) the yogurt on a tampon... even if it's not BV, it'll still help with a yeast infection among other things.
Regardless of any of that, I would really try to get an experienced opinions as to what it is just to be on the safe side. Good luck and I hope I helped!

Can i use yeast infection cream while taking birth control?

Q. Im on sprintec 28 and i hve a yeast infection for sure theres no burning just itchy and little white chunky discharge i bout some 7 day cream can i use it while on the pill?? Or could it not be a yeast infection?

A. There's no interaction between bc and yeast infection treatment.

If the itching feels like it's on the INside, then it's most likely a yeast infection. If it's only on the outside, it could be something else (like dryness).

There are over-the-counter tests that will help you determine if it's an actual infection.

What brand of cream should be used for an over the counter yeast infection cream?
Q. i went to cvs today and did not know what to look for...

A. Yeast infections aren't that easy to permanently get rid of. Many products can temporarily relieve the symptoms, but a long term treatment approach will be your best bet to completely elliminate it.

One of the more popular and effective homeopathic solutions is yeastrol. It's very effective at treating vaginal, penile and oral yeast infections.

What you can also do to speed your recovery is to change you diet in a way that will starve the yeast organisms (Candida).

Things that you should remove from your diet are all sodas, sugars, fruit, fermented foods, foods containing white flour,
alcohol (especially beer), antacids and any product that has yeast or mold.

Things to add to your diet are live yogurt cultures (or take Acidophilus), plenty of water, fresh vegetables, lots of protein rich foods, whey protein, raw garlic, nuts, seeds, oils, millet, rice and oat brans

Another thing to keep in mind is that both you and your partner should consider the diet change/yeastrol treatment as you can be passing the infection back and forth between you.

Hope this helps and best of luck! :)

Are you able to use regular yeast infection cream during the day?
Q. Everything that I read says yeast cream is messy during the day because it runs out of you but does it still do its job if you do use it during the daytime? I dont get a lot of sleep each night so i'm wondering if it benefits in the day too then.
Thanks

A. You are wasting your time using these messy creams, at best you may find some relief from the yeast infection symptoms, but overall you aren't treating the root cause of the symptoms and you are not curing the actual infection.

There is an eBook about the Natural Cure for Yeast Infections that teaches you how to actually cure a yeast infection so you don't suffer from chronic yeast infections. You also find immediate relief from the symptoms of the yeast infection as well as cure the yeast infection. You can start noticing the healing effects immediately and there is nothing on the market that can compare.

The eBook doesn't use any wacky alternative treatment plans, no drugs are involved, and you won't be encouraged to use herbs at all. This treatment actually works and once you read the book you will understand why thousands of people agree that the information in the eBook is priceless. It also offers a money back guarantee and the payment method is through ClickBank, the nets #1 safest payment method.

i keep getting a yeast infection under my breasts and the doc said the use this cream he gave me...?

Q. it's not working, i use it 2x a day, just like he said. my skin cracks from it (and leaves raw skin exposed) which gets hit by my underwire but if i wear no bra (at home) then when i move, they move to and it still hurts. what can i do? go back to the doc? would insurance cover a breast lift because of this? it hurts all the time, and even when i put the cream on it burns where my skin is split.

A. I had a yeast infection under my breast. First, try wearing cotton bras. Victoria's Secret has a whole cotton collection of bras that I really like. Second, when ever you use the bathroom, take a little toilet paper and dab under your breasts to get rid of any moisture. Third, when at home, try not to wear a bra at all. Wear a cotton t-shirt and push it up under your breasts, or if you must, wear a cotton sports bra. Third, if you want a breast lift, you have to find a doctor who will tell your insurance that it's for medical reasons and not just for cosmetic purposes. Most insurances won't cover it unless it's for a specific medical reason, like breast reductions for chronic back pain. I don't know if continuous yeast infections will be a good enough reason. I would use the cream for a week before going back to the doctor. Sometimes skin problems get worse before they get better. If it's been longer than a week, go back and ask for something stronger.

what can you use for a yeast infection under the breast?
Q.

A. I don't think that vaginal yeast infection kits are designed to be used anywhere other than the vagina. If you've experienced a yeast infection under your breast, you'll need to try to keep that area free of moister AND bacteria.

Wash your chest (and underneath your breast) with Dial (Gold), antibacterial soap, twice a day. This will rid your skin of any bacteria and odor, especially if you have very large breast. When you get out of the shower, gently dry your chest with a WHITE towel. White towels tend not to contain as much bacteria as others because they are washed with bleach and don't "hold on" to any bacteria compared to darker, colored towels.

If you have large breasts, you might sweat more heavily under them. Make a habit of keeping that area free of lots of bacteria. If you have to buy Always feminine wipes and keep a few in your purse...do that. Whenever you go to the ladie's room, just gently wipe away any perspiration. This should cut down on the bacteria/odor.

But, if all of this fails consult your doctor. They may be able to prescribe you with a medication that will treat the skin under your breasts and get rid of the infection.

well i have an yeast infection of the skin its under my breast my innerthigh and i can bath all day and smell?
Q. horrible its embarrassing i tried sum cream and bleach even vineger but it wont leave me ppl may think i dnt bath i cry so much man its horrible some help me the doctors no help she gave me pills and all they dnt work im going crazy plleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeee help me

A. umm, try going to a new doctor or getting a second opinion from one.

Yeast infection under breasts? Cream or powder w/miconazole nitrate or another OTC recommendations?
Q. Medical professionals have suggested Monistat powder (I can't find the powder, only the cream), or jock itch powder or foot powder (don't know the brands). Anyone try these or found something better?

A. There are multiple types of anti fungal medications that work.
Check out this website; http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/antifungal-medications-002721.htm

Use 'Tough actin Tinactin' or Monistat for the over the counter remedies.

The underlying problem could be much greater. This is often a result of an overgrowth of yeast in your system. Yeast live in your intestines and feed of sugar, starches, vinegar and other foods. You will need to starve the yeast out of your system. This means that you may want to stay away from sugars and starches and explain why yeast infections or rashes are a associated with increased sugar levels.

For a bread substitution try eating Women's Bread or the Ezekial Grains. http://www.foodforlife.com/

Also, eat more yogurt with good bacteria such as Stonyfield Farms Brand.
http://www.stonyfieldfarms.com/

You can also combine probiotics (which you can buy over the counter at any drug store, look for Acidophilus or other Probiotics)
http://www.probiotics.co.nz/prbtcs.html

For further fighting against the yeast, increase your vegetable and protein intake as yeast prefer sugar. Reducing your sugar intake is important. Good luck.

Human yeast ear infection at home treatments?

Q. My boyfriend doesn't have health insurance and can't afford medial care.

He has what seems like excessive ear wax, so I took a sample to work (I am a vet tech) and found yeast when I looked at it under the microscope. Does anyone know any over the counter or non-prescription treatments? How can we prevent it from re-occurring?

A. get an over-the-counter antifungal that is made for athletes foot and swab some into the ear. I get yeast infections in my belly button and this works. His ear canal structure must be such that water traps in it easily. He needs to take some cotton balls or something and make sure that his ears are completely dried out when he gets out of the shower.

Is There A Quick at-home treatment for a yeast infection?
Q. I was recently put on antibiotics for an infection after getting my teeth worked on. NOW I have a yeast infection! grrrr
Anyway, looking on the internet only tells me things I can't do. Like apple cider vinegar, monestat, etc. Basically, things that cost money, and I am so broke at the moment. I can't even afford food at the moment..ok that has nothing to do with it...
Is there ANYTHING, I can try to even just help relieve this insane itching? Just till I can get a few bucks to get rid of it?
I tried sleeping without panties on last night and it felt weird, but did not help what-so-ever.
Any help is appreciated in advance.

What is a good at home treatment for pregnancy induced vaginal itching?(not yeast infection or std!)?
Q. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I never experienced vaginal itching before, although I am aware that pregnancy raises the PH balance and can cause it. It is not a yeast infection, already ruled out by my Dr. and I'm certain it's not an STD because I've been w my husband for 11 years. So that being said I would appreciate any good comments from women who have been pregnant and had this symptom and found any way to relieve it!! This is causing me to not want to be intimate w my husband because I'm afraid it will hurt. I try not to scratch because it only leads to pain but I'm only human...it itches I scratch! Help?!

A. Diaper rash cream! That stuff is amazing! Also if you shave or wax down there don't do it for a week or 2 it just irritates and makes it much worse

Got a yeast infection from taking antibiotics...done a home treatment and the Diflucan pill-not gone yet-help!

Q. I was taking antibiotics for a toothache recently and about halfway through the antibiotic....I got a yeast infection. I did the Monistat one day treatment but still had to finish the antibiotics. The one day didn't work so I got the Diflucan pill. I took that, and while it helped to get rid of the infection for the most part....I still have lingering itching. What can i do to help this to go away???

A. I would see the doc. You may need something stronger than what you can get over the counter. Anti-biotics are notorious for that! UGH! I hate it! good luck! :)

yeast infections home treatments?
Q. what are some ways to treat a yeast infection at home?

A. You can easily go to a local supermarket or pharmacy and buy Monistat or some other OTC yeast infection treatment. Also, as a preventative measure, yogurt (eaten, not applied) is a great food that can ward off future infections.

However, keep in mind that a good percentage of women who think they have yeast infections, actually have some other minor infection or STD and although OTC drugs treat the itch and burning that comes with the infection, it may be likely that the infection can return or worse that you might be covering up something more serious and prolonging it. Also, if this is the second or third time that you've had a yeast infection, I would definitely go see a doctor to see if it's anything more than a regular yeast infection.

Will an untreated yeast infection cure itself or cause bigger problems?

Q. I was taking antibiotics for an infection in my eyelids and ended up with a yeast infection (happens to me every time I take amoxicillin). I cannot afford to buy the cream to treat it, period. Because you can buy the cream OTC now, my insurance company will not cover with a prescription. Will it eventually go away on it's own?

A. Just ask your MD to write for rx only diflucan. An untreated yeast infection will not cure itself.

yeast infection cure with no yogurt or meds?
Q. How do you help stop the itch/discomfort when you are out of the medication that did not work and there is no yogurt in the fridge? Any of you girls have any home remedies?

A. Home remidies for yeast: Garlic, White vinigar or bleach. Both deluted in water of course. Like a tablespoon in a 8oz. glass of water. Bleach cant be taken internally but the rest can.

Are there any good yeast infection cures?
Q. This is very embarressing, but I think I have a a year infection. Been looking at yeast infection cures on the internet, but there is so much stuff that is recommended that I dont know what to do.

It isn't too bad, but it is uncomfortable. I'd rather not go the doctor if I can take care of it myself.

Thanks for any help!

A. I had a really bad yeast infection about 6 months ago. It burned like crazy, much worse than the 2 other times I had mild ones.

My friend recommended this good guide on it - I was able to treat with with name natural remedies, and didn't have to go to the doctor or anything. I got the guide from this site:

http://www.theyeastinfectionsolution.com

Definitely would recommend it. After I followed all of the advice i was able to cure it in 2 days. All the recommendations are natural, too, which was a plus.

How can you tell when I yeast infection is curing?
Q. I'm a 14 year old virgin and I think I have a yeast infection because I had some itching and a little bit of a fishy smell. So I went to my doctor and he prescribed me this pill that I take orally.I took it about 2 hours ago and now my vulva is itching badly. Is this a sign that it is clearing up because it wasn't itching before I took the pill and if not, then can you tell when it is curing?

A. Okay if you smell fishy that isn't a yeast infection that's something different like a Hygiene issue.

The itching is a symptom of a yeast infection. DO NOT SCRATCH IT.
If he gave you a diflucan or an antifungal pill it should clear up in a day or two.

KEEP THE AREA DRY AND CLEAN! This will help with the itching.

To prevent a yeast infection in the future eat a lot of yogurt, stay away from a lot of sugar, don't wear your pants too tight and try to keep the area as dry and clean as possible.

What USA kind/brand of yogurt to eat and use on yourself for yeast infection?

Q. I have no insurance. I get yeast infections quite often..I think it's from my high sugar intake. I go to the store and see all these different flavored, high grams of sugar yogurts! I don't recall ever seeing a "plain yogurt" What kind is the best to use for relief of a yeast infection and best kind of eat to avoid them?

Thank you in advance.

A. There is plain yogurt. I buy mine out of Walmart. It's the Great Value brand that comes in 6oz container cups or you can buy the 32oz size container. Dannon brand also has plain yogurt in the 32oz container. They both contain L.acidophilus, the good bacteria. Look very hard because almost every time I go to buy some they're almost sold out. That's probably why you never see it. There are many women suffering from the same thing. So I'm sure we're all buying the same product.

How Long Does It Take For Yogurt To Remove Yeast Infection?
Q. I put plain yogurt (with active culture) around my vulva and inside my vagina with a tampon, to get rid of a yeast infection the natural way. A couple of hours later, I do feel relief.

But how long will it take for the yeast to be complete vacant from my vagina, and when will my skin completely restore itself?

A. If it's working, keep using it for at least 3 days. If it comes back, you should buy Monistat 7 instead.

I heard plain yogurt is ok to use as treatment for yeast infection?
Q. I was told by a friend that it's ok to insert plain yogurt inside if you have a yeast infection & that it'll help cure or treat it. Is this true?

How long does it take for yogurt to make a yeast infection go away?
Q. I have had it for a ridiculously long time because I don't wanna tell my dad and I don't live with any women. And don't tell me to go to the doctor, I know I should. Or what is the best working medication at a store? Thanks!

A. Go to the store and buy the 3 day treatment its near the pads and tampons, The 1 day treatment is harsh I wouldnt suggest it. Just go through self checkout so its not embarrassing. You can get it for like 10 dollars. I get yeast infections all the time. this helps.

Can i mix monistat 3 with Plain yogurt for my yeast infection?

Q. I have a yeast infection and it's almost gone but i was wondering if it would be more effective to mix yogurt and the monistat suppository. I have also been taking 1000 mg of Oderless Garlic and have eaten some yogurt. I have been watching what i eat and have been drinking lots of water.
It's not to eat -_- it's to put up there! Yogurt is okay to use inside your vagina for yeast infections and so is monistat so my question was can i mix them, NOT TO EAT THEM.

A. Yes you absolutely can.

Here is what you should do: use the medication at night, apply yogurt down there for a couple hours sometime during the day. I wouldn't put them both at the same time (I don't know why but my MIL is a nurse and said not to)~ do it separately.

Be sure the yogurt is Plain and not flavored.
Also, It would also help you to eat some of the yogurt and even take acidophilus which has the same stuff yogurt does. (if you are on antibiotics and that is why you got the yeast infection then wait to take the acidophilus until you are done with the antibiotics, taking them together will lessen the effects of antibiotics.)

Best affordable brand of yogurt to use for yeast infection?
Q. Hi I was wondering what brand of yogurt is good and works for a yeast infection and the best way to insert it into vagina. Should I put it in with fingers? Should I dip a tampon in the yogurt then put it in or could I fill a tampon applicator with yogurt, freeze it, then insert it?

Thanks for all answers.

A. I wouldn't use yogurt for yeast infections. Where did you hear that from? My doctor told me drinking cranberry juice is good for the bladder and infections. As home remedy this may be a good choice to go for.

For a more formal and better treatment, you can just go to your local pharmacy and buy an over the counter medicine for yeast infections. Many women have problems like these. So finding these products shouldn't be difficult. I would ask someone who works their to help you find it.

As someone that has a vagina, I know that douching can cause yeast infections because it kills all the bacteria even the ones that help clean the vagina. It also increases your chances of getting yeast infections. Many doctors would advise you against using a douchebag because it causes a lot of problems such as yeast infections.

Applying yogurt to vagina for yeast infection?
Q. I'm not sure, do you just slather it inside? Because that seems a little unsanitary. Also, does anyone have any other remedies?

A. NEVER apply yogurt to your vagina for yeast infections!!!

Its the bacteria in yogurt that can HELP reduce symptoms and heal yeast infections!

You need to go to the pharmacy and get some yeast creams and or tablets!!

Normally there is a one of pill you can take, and a cream that will help ease the irritation! Its inexpensive and will help clear it up ASAP.

Is yogurt really good for chronic yeast infection in ears?
Q. I read this somewhere but now I can't find anything about it and I don't know how much or how often to feed it or if it really IS a good thing to be feeding my cat. She's had ongoing yeast infections since I adopted her and I wanted to see if there was anything cheaper than the vet since I'll be dealing with this the rest of her life.
Ohhhhhh thanks Elaine!! That'll help anyway!! I've been buying drops at the vet every couple months so that will at least save me money!!

A. No, not in the ears. The yogurt/yeast infection only works with humans (women, and it's what you put in AFTER you douche down there to get the good bacteria going again).

For cats with yeast infections in the ears you need to change the acidity of the environment to stop the yeast growth. It's easiest done with a kleenex wadded over your finger, dipped in 50/50 water/vinegar and swabed out every other day. The yogurt won't do a thing.

What causes yeast infections, and what can be done to prevent them from coming back?

Q. And no I don't mean that they are caused by more growth of the fungal or whatever. I mean what does a person do that causes that fungal growth in the genital area? And what to do to prevent them returning?

A. Yeast is in the air and will grow in a warm, dark, moist place.

You have natural yeast prevention in your discharge. If you take anti-biotics or are sick or diabetic, it stops your bodys natural defense and you often get a yeast infection.

You can help reduce your chance by some hygiene changes:

* Shave the area. Hair gives moisture a place to hide.

* Dry the area after your shower very well. A hair-dryer on cool can help.

* Wear panty liners. These help wick away moisture. Change them mid-day if you need to.

* Sleep without panties to let air circulate. Or get loose "boy box'ers" to wear to help air keep things dry.

Hope this helps.

What causes yeast infections and how can I prevent them and get rid of them?
Q. How can I effectively get rid of a yeast infection and prevent them in the future?

A. Antibiotics - Can kill the good bacteria allowing yeast to take over. If your taking antibiotics eating yogurt can help.
Clothing - Always wear lose fitting cotton underwear.
Chemicals - Douches and even some perfumed toilet papers are irritants.
Diet - Some people feel that cutting down on foods that contain yeast helps lessen the intensity or frequency of yeast infections. People with uncontrolled diabetes are more prone to infection.
Sexual Transmission - Yeast infections can be transmitted between people by direct contact.
Hormones - Pregnant women are particularly prone to yeast infections. Many women taking contraceptive pills experience regular yeast infections as their hormone levels fluctuate.
Yeast infections are treated with antifungal drugs, such as clotrimazole or miconazole. There are creams and tablets used in the vagina, skin ointments, and pills.

Antifungal drugs usually work well to treat a vaginal yeast infection. But infections that do not respond to treatment are becoming more common. Taking antifungal drugs when they are not needed can help make yeast resistant to the drugs. For this reason, you should not use antifungal drugs unless you are sure that you have a yeast infection.

If you are sure that you have a yeast infection, you can buy over-the-counter products to treat the infection. Be sure to follow the directions for using the product. If you are not sure whether you have a yeast infection or another type of infection or problem, you should see your health care provider. You should also see your health care provider if you have recurring yeast infections.

For this reason, sexual activity of any kind should be avoided until the infection is cleared up and a doctor confirms it is safe to resume sexual relations.

what causes yeast infection in women and is that responsible for the fishy smell?

Does anyone know a natural cure for a female yeast infection?

Q. I am tired of using monostat, because I feel that it has to be bad for me in some way, and I want a natural cure.

A. You need to avoid all yeast and sugar products ......... sugar will literally feed the yeast overgrowth allowing it to flourish......... ditch the alcohol and sodas and diet sodas too if you drink any .....and pump up your intake of fresh filtered water to at least 2 - 3 litres per day ..... antiobiotics, especially broad - spectrum antiobiotics will also kill the helpful bacteria which you need for a healthy gut ........ supplement with a good quality probiotic to rebalance gut flora ......... eat more alkaline forming foods such as leafy and green vegies, cold water fresh fishes such as tuna, salmon, sardines and whiting, organic nuts and seeds such as almonds and brazil nuts........ all these foods are rich in magnesium and will thus encourage the production of hydrochloric acid in your tummy aiding in digestion and effective elimination ........ eat organic brown rice and quinoa (prounounced keen ~ wah) as they are both a rich source of the B complex of vitamins and will provide you with the carbs you need for sustained energy and the quinoa is also rich in calcium and iron .......... Avoid sugars such as honey, molasses, fructose, maltose, lactose and fruit juices ...... avoid artificial sweetners and foods containing brewer's yeast - ie - alcohol such as beer, wine, brandy, whiskey, rum, ciders and root beer.... avoid baker's yeast ie ~ breads and rolls and pastries .... avoid mushrooms ... avoid fruits and vegies with any sign of mold growth on them .... avoid fermented beverages and condiments including mayonnaise, ketchup, pickled vegies and pickles, salad dressings (use lemon and olive oil instead), soy sauce and vinegar .... avoid all types of hard cheeses which are a pretty good source of mold.... avoid processed and smoked meats and fish, including hot dogs, sausages, luncheon meats etc....... these meats are processed with sugar, spices, yeast and other preservatives .... avoid canned bottled or frozen fruit and vegie juices cos they have loads of sugar and are commonly made from overripened or damaged produce; generally the skin of the fruit contains surface mold and rotten spots, which are pulverised into the juice... avoid dried fruits.... avoid coffee & tea as much as you can as caffeine will aggravate yeast overgrowth..................... you don't need to use medications to kill a yeast overgrowth ..... simply eliminate their food source and they will disappear on their own ...... if you normalise the bacterial flora in the gastrointestinal tract you will feel much better and in most cases won't need drugs â¥

hope this helps a bit

is there any natural cures for a yeast infection?
Q. I am 7 weeks pregnant, and I think I've come down with a yeast infection due to the changing of hormones. Until I see my doctor is there anything I can do for it that would not put my baby in jeopardy?

A. Eat lots of yogurt. I had a very painful yeast infection at about 37 weeks pregnant. I put ice packs on the outside of my underwear and ate a half gallon of yogurt (yeah it was attractive). Once I talked to my ob, she assured me the monistat cream was safe to use externally.

How long does it take for a yeast infection to cure?
Q. I used a one day treatment, and it's been three days, and there's an awful lot of white discharge still. But the itching and burning have gone away. The box said it could take up to three days to clear, and I am on my third day. Is this normal?

A. It really depends on what your diet is like and how many antibiotics you have taken in the past. It is normal for it to take a little while for the meds to kick in. After it is gone you need to try prevention.

How do you treat/cure chronic yeast infection with natural remedies?

Q. My girlfriend has chronic yeast infection. She has taken many meds and is watching what she eats. What are some remedies and tips that you may have? thanks in advance.

A. Coconut oil is supposed to be a good rememdy for candida. You can now buy virgin coconut oil in the supplement section of you local health store. Don't buy the cooking type - it's not as pure and doesn't have the same benefit.

What are some full proof ways to get rid of chronic yeast infections?
Q. My girlfriend has had it for quite awhile now and been trying to get rid of it with all sorts of external and internal creams and even some pills but nothing seems to work at all. She tells me sex just hurts and doesn't even feel good so we just stopped altogether. Is there anything else she should try? Certain products, creams, medicines, pills, eating habits, herbal remedies, etc?

A. Make sure she isn't using soap down there
Change her washing powder
Is she on the pill? that can affect it
Are you using condoms? If not make sure you wash with water, the PH may be affected by you, that is possible.

There are so many things, I recommend going to the doctor so that all possibilities can be talked about.
