i keep getting a yeast infection under my breasts and the doc said the use this cream he gave me...?

Q. it's not working, i use it 2x a day, just like he said. my skin cracks from it (and leaves raw skin exposed) which gets hit by my underwire but if i wear no bra (at home) then when i move, they move to and it still hurts. what can i do? go back to the doc? would insurance cover a breast lift because of this? it hurts all the time, and even when i put the cream on it burns where my skin is split.

A. I had a yeast infection under my breast. First, try wearing cotton bras. Victoria's Secret has a whole cotton collection of bras that I really like. Second, when ever you use the bathroom, take a little toilet paper and dab under your breasts to get rid of any moisture. Third, when at home, try not to wear a bra at all. Wear a cotton t-shirt and push it up under your breasts, or if you must, wear a cotton sports bra. Third, if you want a breast lift, you have to find a doctor who will tell your insurance that it's for medical reasons and not just for cosmetic purposes. Most insurances won't cover it unless it's for a specific medical reason, like breast reductions for chronic back pain. I don't know if continuous yeast infections will be a good enough reason. I would use the cream for a week before going back to the doctor. Sometimes skin problems get worse before they get better. If it's been longer than a week, go back and ask for something stronger.

what can you use for a yeast infection under the breast?
Q.

A. I don't think that vaginal yeast infection kits are designed to be used anywhere other than the vagina. If you've experienced a yeast infection under your breast, you'll need to try to keep that area free of moister AND bacteria.

Wash your chest (and underneath your breast) with Dial (Gold), antibacterial soap, twice a day. This will rid your skin of any bacteria and odor, especially if you have very large breast. When you get out of the shower, gently dry your chest with a WHITE towel. White towels tend not to contain as much bacteria as others because they are washed with bleach and don't "hold on" to any bacteria compared to darker, colored towels.

If you have large breasts, you might sweat more heavily under them. Make a habit of keeping that area free of lots of bacteria. If you have to buy Always feminine wipes and keep a few in your purse...do that. Whenever you go to the ladie's room, just gently wipe away any perspiration. This should cut down on the bacteria/odor.

But, if all of this fails consult your doctor. They may be able to prescribe you with a medication that will treat the skin under your breasts and get rid of the infection.

Yeast infection under breasts? Cream or powder w/miconazole nitrate or another OTC recommendations?
Q. Medical professionals have suggested Monistat powder (I can't find the powder, only the cream), or jock itch powder or foot powder (don't know the brands). Anyone try these or found something better?

A. There are multiple types of anti fungal medications that work.
Check out this website; http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/antifungal-medications-002721.htm

Use 'Tough actin Tinactin' or Monistat for the over the counter remedies.

The underlying problem could be much greater. This is often a result of an overgrowth of yeast in your system. Yeast live in your intestines and feed of sugar, starches, vinegar and other foods. You will need to starve the yeast out of your system. This means that you may want to stay away from sugars and starches and explain why yeast infections or rashes are a associated with increased sugar levels.

For a bread substitution try eating Women's Bread or the Ezekial Grains. http://www.foodforlife.com/

Also, eat more yogurt with good bacteria such as Stonyfield Farms Brand.

You can also combine probiotics (which you can buy over the counter at any drug store, look for Acidophilus or other Probiotics)

For further fighting against the yeast, increase your vegetable and protein intake as yeast prefer sugar. Reducing your sugar intake is important. Good luck.
